Care Guide

CARE GUIDE

Extend the life and appearance of your textiles by following these next basic steps.

Rest assured, all House Babylon products will only feel softer after every wash.

Made to last.

BEDDING

The frequency at which you wash, alternate and change your bed sheets is preferential. We recommend you alternate between sets for preservation purposes and wash your sheets at least once a week. Always store bedding somewhere airy and away from any sunlight to allow the cotton to breathe. Do not store them in a plastic container, as they hold moisture.

Your House Babylon bedding will keep getting softer and better with every wash.

  • Wash at low temperature.
  • Wash white and coloured items separately.
  • Use gentle & natural detergent to preserve the quality.
  • Avoid bleach and fabric softener at all costs.

Never wash your sheets at a higher temperature than 40 degrees Celsius. Consistently wash on gentle cycles, with mild detergent and inside out. This will prevent the cotton from shrinking. It is especially recommended that you wash your bedsheets inside out if they are coloured or embroidered. Also, clean your sheets on their own to avoid any catches from other items to cause damage.

We recommend you remove your bed linen before they are completely dry and hang them to avoid any wrinkling of the fabric. Folding them before storage will also help prevent crinkling. Always hand dry your bedding. If you need to machine dry, tumble dry only at low heat only. Please follow the general guidelines on the insert guide of your bed sheets.

Duvets and Pillow

We do not recommend you wash your duvet and pillows. Airing out your duvets bi-monthly is more than enough. If you must wash your duvet or pillow, we suggest you take them to a professional dry cleaner. A household washing machine will most likely not suffice for washing a pillow or duvet and certainly not dry it properly. By professionally cleaning your duvets and pillows you ensure their longevity and fresh odour.

Bathrobes

For toweling bathrobes, we recommend soaking new towels in cold water for 24 hours before the first wash. This way, the cotton fibres expand and ensure the best possible absorbency and strength. Care Instructions:

  • Wash at low temperature.
  • Tumble dry on low heat with dryer balls.
  • Use natural detergent for long life and a great feel.
  • Avoid using softener and bleachers.
  • If a loop snags: cut it, don’t pull.

Additional Information

We advise you to buy new bed sheets every 2 to 5 years – duvets & pillows every 5 years.
