Winter is coming!
The season of snow, hot coco, fireplaces, ski chalets, hypothermia is almost around the corner. As much as all of us like to go for a night out, and we do more than words, there is some comforting charm in staying in on a cold winter’s night curled up next to a radiator in our comfy PJs and watching our favorite movies on repeat.
In the spirit of holidays or as a protection against the White Walkers, here are some ideas to make your home more comfortable this winter
1. CURTAINS ALL THE WAY
Curtains not only make our houses look pretty but they also come in handy to keep our homes warm during the winter. Push the curtains aside to let the sun in during the daytime and draw the curtains when the sun sets, this acts as a layer of insulation and traps in heat.
2. DECLUTTER YOUR RADIATOR
Most of the houses have steam radiators. It is important to not let the steam get blocked for a proper heating of the rooms. Move your sofas, clothes on drying stands away from the radiator as they tend to absorb some of the heat and the rooms end up being not as warm.
3. HOMEMADE HOT DRINKS
Nothing beats the cold better than a hot cup of tea. Other than the usual warm beverages there are some not so well known hot drinks you should definitely try this winter. The Russian tea, Seiten, London fog, dandelion latte are some of the drinks that are not only easy to make but are also beneficial for the health.
4. COZY NOOKS IN THE HOUSE
Creating a comfortable nook is one of the best uses of small places around the house, which otherwise would have been left neglected. Nooks are fun, they provide privacy and can be used for various activities. Just throw in some fluffy pillows and blankets and you are good to go.
Winter is all about spending time with your loved ones and making memories for a lifetime. This holiday season take it up a notch with these ideas and enjoy a warm winter!
