What Does Ethically Sourced Mean at House Babylon

Ethically sourced describes the process of ensuring the products being sourced are obtained in a responsible and sustainable way, that the workers involved in making them are safe and treated fairly and that environmental and social impacts are taken into consideration during the sourcing process

We believe that luxury doesn’t have to be exclusive or elusive, and we think that everyone should have access to well-made, high-end products at affordable prices. We source premium Egyptian cotton from the best suppliers in Egypt, and selling directly to you allows us to pass the significant savings onto our customers.

Unlike many other specialist retailers on the market today, we guarantee every product we sell is ethically sourced. Indeed, that is why we have built such a fantastic reputation amongst our loyal customers.

We pay our craftspeople properly

There are plenty of unethical Egyptian cotton retailers out there that pay incredibly low prices to suppliers and take advantage of workers overseas. House Babylon is outspoken against that practice, and every person in our pipeline is paid fair prices for the quality products they produce. We do not take advantage of business owners in weak economies, and always pay a fair cost for the products we purchase. Far too many companies exploit companies in the far East.

We source 100% authentic Egyptian cotton

Some retailers try to boost profits by purchasing short-staple cotton for their linen products. However the material used is weak with an interior weave that frays. While 100% authentic Egyptian cotton is often more expensive, the 600 thread count is the highest possible. That means our customers get the most durable and well-made linens available.

We cut costs, not quality

So, if we don’t cut back on the materials; how do we keep our prices so affordable? Well, we pride ourselves on an ethos of cutting costs instead of quality. While we will never do anything that reduces the standard of our products; we will drive prices down by cutting out middlemen and getting rid of all those high-end marketing costs.
